Europe is filled with dozens of beautiful countries and even more amazing series. London, Paris, Berlin, Budapest, Rome, Amsterdam, and many, many more. All of the cities are both a great tourist location and a place to live in. But, there are also downsides to living in such big cities. For example, London, Paris, Amsterdam, Prague, and others are extremely expensive. That is why it is not recommended to live there. But, a city such as Budapest has a great balance between pricing, benefits, and disadvantages.

To show people that famous cities such as Rome, London or Paris are not always the most amazing option. There are many other cities in Europe that can be as great or an even better option. In this article, I mostly wanted to focus on Budapest. There is a rise in interest in living in this city, so I thought that an article talking about all the benefits and reasons why anyone should live there.

Affordable living costs

If there is something that will motivate a person to move to a different location, that is money. In modern society, money decides almost everything. So, that is why I believe that the living costs in Budapest are one of its main advantages. Of course, if you really do not care about the budget, you can just skip this segment and go to my next point.

For those that cannot afford to live budget lists and lush life, I assume this will be essential to you.

But, do not get me wrong. Budapest is not an inexpensive city. If you are looking for something cheap, there are many other alternatives in Eastern or Southeastern Europe. There, you could find a great living environment, for half of the living costs or even less.

However, when you compare those expenses with similar cities such as Prague, the average apartment, food, or rent expenses are much lower. Some experts claim that those costs are around 15 to 20% lower. It may not sound like much, but 20% out of thousand euros is €200. That is a hefty sum of money.

When you consider the fact that you are getting those same benefits and advantages of Budapest compared to a place such as Prague for a lower price, the answer is obvious. It is truly a great place to live in.

Rich culture and history

When you compared the culture and the type of people between the two countries, you will find a lot of differences. You will also find a lot of similarities.

However, when you compare the people of a younger country in an older country, the distance/difference between these two people is much different. A younger country still has not developed a lot of culture and history.

That is not true for Hungary. Hungary is a very old country and has a very rich history. A culture that has been developing for more than two millennia. Budapest is probably the oldest city in Hungary. Some say it was built before 1 AD.

For some, this might not be very important, but I believe that it should be. You might be wondering: “Why should I care about this?” Well, I believe that this is a vital piece of information, especially if you plan on living in this city. You will be constantly surrounded by Hungarians. Those people around you will have a huge effect on your experience in this city.

But, their culture and history show that Budapest and its citizens are always welcoming, warm, friendly and you will never feel out of place.

This also means that you will have a lot to do when you are in Budapest. You can visit hundreds of museums, old buildings, and other cultural locations as suggested by Info-Budapest.

Amazing architecture

When you first enter Budapest, one of the first things that will cross your mind is just how amazing the architecture is in this city. Everywhere you go, you see neoclassical architecture, Ottoman, gothic revivals, and many, many other styles. This is all thanks to that rich culture and history.

So, when you are out there on the stroll, make sure to look up and check the buildings around you. This is something that you will definitely appreciate.

Fresh vegetables and fruits

London, Berlin in Amsterdam are all beautiful cities filled with amazing culture and people. When you get there, you have no idea what to do first because there is so much to see. But, the main problem people have with the cities is the fact that they cannot find fresh food. All vegetables and fruits are imported from different countries in Europe. Mostly from the countries located south.

This is mostly because that part of Europe is located more in the north, so the weather is not exactly perfect for growing veggies and fruits.

However, fortunately, that northern cold has not claimed Budapest. This country is right there in the middle of Europe, in the perfect spot. This means that Hungary always has fresh produce of vegetables and fruits.

When you go shopping, you will always be met with fresh tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, broccolis, potatoes and anything else you can think of. I think that this is a factor that should always be considered, especially if your plan is to live here for a longer-term.

Great nightlife

Right now, it may not be the smartest idea to go party in a nightclub because of the coronavirus, but once that is dealt with, you will be surprised that Hungary has a great nightlife.

If you are not sure where to go, just Google Budapest nightlife and you will be met with hundreds of bars, nightclubs and restaurants. You will always have a place where you can go and have a great time.

As you can see, Budapest is a great place to visit, but it is an even better place to live in.
