The actress’s family was raised in Vadodara and Ahmedabad, in a family with deep roots in Gujarati literature. Because of that, she is a Gujarati speaker herself.
Neha’s father is a famous writer, and he is the one who inspired her to pursue acting.
When it comes to her education, she earned a degree in Masters in Performing arts (MPA) in Indian Classical Dance and a Diploma in Vocal and drama.

From 2008 to 2024, Neha played the role of Anjali Mehta, which is currently her longest TV run.
Anjali is the wife of the narrator and main character in the series, Taarak Mehta. She is a young, sophisticated, and modern woman. Anjali works as a dietician and also controls her husband’s diet.
In August 2024, the actress decided to quit the show so she could start a new project. After a 12 years old journey, she has decided to leave the show and try something new and different.
She said shortly in an interview for The Times of India, “Yes, there were issues, but I believe that sometimes, silence speaks for itself. Also, I felt that I needed to move on and grow. I need to explore other platforms like films and web series. When you become a part of a project for such a long time, you settle into a comfort zone and don’t think of any other opportunities. Over the last few years, I got some interesting offers, but I let them go because I felt this show was my family.”
She also said that if Asit Modi, a respectful producer, calls her back in the famous show, she might consider going back.
Besides, Neha hosted a SAB TV show, Wah! Wah! Kya Baat Hai! along with Shailesh Lodha in 2012 and 2013.
